ReWear formulated from this shocking statistic. A pop-up store in a rubbish truck so consumers can visually see the damage they do by throwing away their clothing, due to time-limiting trends.
THE SOLUTION
The truck would sell old collections of brands and clothing that others have donated. Clothing deemed 'unwearable' are still sold as extra fabrics, used for cleaning materials or art project resources.
The truck would pose as its own marketing whilst it runs through the country, because people can physically visualise how much clothing would be wasted every second. This also helps consumers get great direct customer service which will help by engaging with them about the main problem - the massive amounts of textile wastage.
